Air. Carve. Grind. Tailside. Female skateboarders have been essential to the growth of skateboarding as a sport. Since 1940, women have been skateboarding — and 20 years later the first major women’s skateboarding competition was created. 

GFG is seeing more women than ever represent all across major media outlets for their accomplishments on a skateboard. And it’s no surprise that women have made skateboarding more open, more untouchable, more bold-faced— since it's conception.
